Amsterdam & London - December, 2003

Chris and I went to Amsterdam and London this fall, spending
about 5 1/2 days in each.
It was our first time in Amsterdam, and what a
beautiful city. We stayed at the Radisson SAS right in the
center of the city.

My friend Marco flew up from Milan for the week
and, along with his friend Dewy, showed us around Amsterdam. We
walked all around the city center and also got a good view of the city
from the water with a boat tour.
The night life was very active in Amsterdam.
One of the more interesting experiences was dinner at the
Supperclub. A five-course meal is served to you over four
hours while you're reclining on cushions and listening to the live DJs
spin. And of course,
Amsterdam has several world-class museums. We visited the Van
Gogh Museum and the Rijks Museum as well as a few of the lesser
museums in the city. The
weather was quite cold, just above freezing, and we didn't see any
sunlight until we flew to London!

It was great to go back to London! We stayed
at the Radisson right on Leicester Square, an easy walk to Soho and a
quick tube ride to anywhere else.

London By day, we explored
some of the more well-known London landmarks such as Whitehall, the
huge ferris wheel known as the London Eye, the Tower Bridge, and
Buckingham Palace. In the evenings, we would meet up with my
friend Arda and explore the night life.
